Explosion from gender reveal party felt miles away in New Hampshire

A New Hampshire gender reveal party was truly rocking.

Police in Kingston received reports of a loud explosion Tuesday night that was heard in neighboring towns, and across the border in Massachusetts.

When officers arrived at a quarry they found that revelers ignited 80 pounds of Tannerite, an exploding compound used for firearms practice.

The partiers told police they thought the quarry would be the safest place to detonate the massive explosions.

“We heard this god-awful blast,” neighbor Sara Taglieri told NBC 10 Boston. “It knocked pictures off our walls … I’m all up for silliness and what not, but that was extreme.”

Other neighbors reported cracks in the foundation of their homes, according to the station.

No one was injured, and investigators are looking into whether property damage charges will be filed against the person who bought the legal explosives.

There is no word on whether the baby is a boy or a girl.
