Activist Alyssa Milano Believes Masks Will ‘Protect You More Than An AR-15’

Charlotte, NC — On Monday, former actress and current progressive activist Alyssa Milano tried to convince “anti-maskers” on Twitter to adopt the practice of wearing face coverings to protect them from the coronavirus, assuring them that a mask will protect them “more than an AR-15” ever will.

Milano, who is virulently pro-gun control, vowed earlier this month to soften her tone and extend an “olive branch” to President Trump’s supporters, despite the fact she has previously referred to them as racists and at least once compared the president’s fans to Nazis.

Some olive branches have bends and knots in them apparently.

In a discernible overture to those who disagree with her ideologically, Milano has decided to argue the benefits of wearing a mask — a practice which is now recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as well as most medical professionals.

Apparently, Milano is not concerned or isn’t fully aware that linking masks and support for gun rights isn’t backed by official research.  However, her concern that she was not reaching the right audience, Milano continued, “LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK: A MASK WILL PROTECT YOU *MORE* THAN AN AR-15 WILL.”

Anti-maskers are the same people who think they need an AR-15 for “protection”. LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK: A MASK WILL PROTECT YOU *MORE* THAN AN AR-15 WILL.

“Louder for people in the back” is usually reserved for those retweeting or replying to a statement, but Milano restricts her Twitter account so that just her approved followers are allowed to interact with her missives.

Like a lot of the research from the CDC and WHO, a lot of the mask recommendations have, obviously, changed over the course of the pandemic. Both agencies contradicted themselves on a number of things related to masks, but American ‘journalists’ making their best attempt at ‘journalisming’ blamed the White House and the Surgeons General for the change in policy.

But while masks are now a recommended precaution against COVID-19, Milano’s theory has some holes.

The threat of coronavirus is also very different from a threat that might require a firearm necessitates an armed response.  For example, when suspicious strangers were spotted near Milano’s home last month, armed law enforcement officials were called to handle the alleged intrusion, according to Fox News.

Although there’s so much gaslighting and ignorance spread on Twitter there were some commentators who happily pointed out that different situations require different responses and that while masks may protect individuals from disease, AR-15s provide an entirely different form of — voluntary — protection.

“Uh, they could theoretically both protect you against different things. Is there a reason you think these two things are mutually exclusive? Or related in any logical way at all?” Twitter user “molratty” quipped.

“Surely I’m not the only person in America who believes wearing a mask helps reduce virus spread and firearms protect from those who wish you harm…” added Kimberly Ross.

But the best response filled with solid logic was, without a doubt, from Tim Pool.

Milano, like many windbags in Hollywood, has made a new career for themselves lecturing Americans about the efficacy of masks from their Twitter accounts while wearing a handmade mask with a filter pocket.  Milano has previously contracted COVID-19 and is a self-described COVID “long hauler.”  That is someone who continues to experience the effects of the disease weeks and months after officially recovering.

However, Milano has not revealed how or where she contracted the novel coronavirus.  Perhaps one of these ‘journalists’ who might agree with her could ask her, but might have to make contact with Milano’s personal bodyguards who are likely carrying loaded weapons with them.

Although, I’m sure these guys are also wearing masks, too.  After all, a mask and a gun serve two very different purposes.
